Reason for which the roles exists： APAC controllership team is responsible for in-market controllership matters including corporate governance, process optimization, compliance, etc., as well as management and statutory accounting for all the businesses in the region. The statutory and compliance team provides critical support to local market controllers and CFOs to ensure statutory compliance in APAC region across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). APAC scope covers Greater China (mainland China, Taiwan and HK), Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand and South East Asia. The role is responsible for statutory reporting, tax operation and compliance: Statutory reporting for APAC Responsible for adjusting the management book/USGAAP results to each of the local GAAPs in Asia Pacific to comply with each country/region’s local statutory requirements and coordinate with external auditors to conclude audit of the legal entities in Asia Pacific Region for tax filing purposes. Tax operation： Partner with inhouse tax team and legal team to ensure local statutory compliances. Compliance： Responsible to maintain the internal controls which impact financial compliance. Coordinate with different stakeholder to enhance internal control environment. Key elements and required results of the role： Daily Responsibilities: • Accountable for timely delivery of audited statutory reports to meet tax filing deadline through coordination with tax team and external auditors • Accountable for safeguarding the control environment and ensuring compliance activities are properly executed in accordance with SOX and other control standards (not just accounting) • Accountable for US GAAP compliance and Local GAAP compliance and statutory reporting requirements working with support teams to deliver against these standards • Coordination with tax team to ensure the timely service delivery for tax filing • Fostering the culture of “one team” People Responsibilities: o Lead APAC statutory and compliance team through coaching, talent development plan and strategic planning to define the team’s value proposition Who accountable to, what and who accountable for and any budget responsibility： • Accountable to the senior manager of statutory and compliance • Accountable to each local market controller to ensure timely delivery of services Number of years experience, Qualifications and People Management experience： • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related major • CPA or equivalent highly preferred • Solid Knowledge of both USGAAP and IFRS • Written and verbal English fluency • Minimum of 8 years of working experience in both Big 4 audit firms and multinational company, preferred in a regional role • Experience in strategic planning; executive communication, persuasion and negotiation; multiple stakeholder management • Experience in driving results while managing uncertainty and nuisances; managing controls, setting up new procedures, and providing solutions in complex business environment and multiple stakeholders • Experience in leadership through leaders • Strategic thinking and business acumen • Leadership communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills • Strong ability to manage uncertainty and changing business environment • Ability to work with various stakeholders with different objectives • Demonstrated team leadership
